Magdeburg - or better known as the green city at the river Elbe - is one of the greenest cities in Germany with over 10 percent green areas. In addition to the Nordpark directly at the university, the Rotehornpark in particular is one of the most popular hotspots. A further highlight is of course the river Elbe along which Magdeburg stretches and where our new central building for medical technology is now located.

Magdeburg offers very student-friendly conditions due to the low rents in comparison to other cities and a very good infrastructure which allows you to get through the city by tram, bus or bike in a short time.

In Magdeburg you will never get bored outside the lecture hall. The many student initiatives, cultural institutions, sports clubs, cinemas and of course the excellent club and pub district makes the time outside the university very enjoyable.

Industry and research orientation during the studies

During their studies, the students handle contents on which, also in a more detailed form, the OVGU
or the cooperating research institutions such as the STIMULATE research campus, actively
is being investigated. The excellent cooperation network enables students to establish contact with leading companies in the medical technology sector at an early stage. This is particularly useful for internships, research tracks, the master's thesis or the later career start.

Just like the environment in today's medical technology industry, our master's program enjoys a high degree of internationality among its students. With over 70% international students from nine different countries, students benefit from the exciting intercultural exchange during their studies with their fellow students.
